Samia Shoman
Samia Shoman, Ed.D, a California native with Palestinian roots, has dedicated the last 24 years of her career in public education to promoting racial and social justice in the classroom and broader educational organizations she has worked in. She is the co-coordinator of MECA’s Teach Palestine Project and has developed curriculum and published various articles focused on teaching Palestine. She collaborates with various organizations to bring authentic Ethnic Studies into K-12 classrooms. Samia holds a B.A in Political Science with a minor in Spanish from UC Davis, an M.A. in Education from San Francisco State University, and an Ed.D with a focus on Organization and Leadership from the University of San Francisco. When she isn’t working with students, their families, or teachers and administrators, Samia is running or reading, sharing in being a proud parent of boy/girl twins, Jihad and Falestine.
