Hanna Salmon

Hanna Salmon is a musician, researcher, and PhD student from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is a classically trained pianist, having received her degree in Piano Performance from Temple University in 2017. While in Philadelphia, she enjoyed working as a piano teacher and accompanist, as well as performing as a chamber and pit orchestra musician. Hanna is now completing her doctoral research for her PhD in Ethnomusicology from the University of Texas at Austin, where she studies Palestinian storytelling as an atmospheric practice and mode of artistic resistance in the West Bank of Palestine and in diaspora. She now plays the oud, performing in musical and storytelling performances and as a member of the Bereket Middle Eastern Music Ensemble at UT Austin.
