Laura Albast

Laura Albast is a Palestinian journalist, photographer, editor, and media analyst. Her publications and appearances include The Washington Post, The New Arab, Arab American News, Doha News, Al Jazeera, TRT World, KPFA and other outlets. She is also a skilled Arabic/English translator who contributed to dozens of projects in video, audio, and print including Bloomberg Businessweek, The Nation, and Fiasco podcast. Laura guest edited and translated a special issue published in Skin Deep creative magazine titled Palestine: Ways of Being. Her Arabic poetry has been published in Rumman Cultural Magazine, Sekka Magazine, and the Ghassan Kanafani Resistance Arts Anthology. She was a semi-finalist for Southeast Review’s 2022 Gearhart Poetry Prize. She holds degrees from the American University of Beirut and Boston University and is currently the Senior Editor of Digital Strategy and Communications at the Institute for Palestine Studies-USA in Washington, DC. She is a member of the Palestine Writes Literature Festival organizing committee.
