Manal Deeb

Manal Deeb is a Palestinian visual artist born in Ramallah, Palestine and currently living in Fairfax, VA USA. Manal’s artworks has been described as metaphoric creativity of tragedy transmute into a form of beauty. Her art simulates persistence and perseverance in a visual artist longing of Palestinian belonging. Thirty of her artworks were exhibited at the United Nation’s headquarter in New York for three consecutive months, one of the longest Palestinian exhibits at the UN. She was recognized by the ADC as the Arab American woman of the year in 2013. In her most recent artistic activities, the nationally renowned Woolly Mammoth Theatre has selected her artworks to accompany the female Chicago-based “She the People” play recognizing her artwork as women empowerment. Manal exhibited and is still exhibiting across the world in solo and group exhibitions which were also featured in different magazines, journals, books, newspapers, TV shows and radio interviews. Manal is a co-founder of Y Galleri.
