Jessica Yutlatakwas Powless

Jessica has always been passionate about writing and visual arts. At the age of 10 Jessica wrote her first short children’s book and went on later to earn her bachelor’s degrees in both audio engineering and business. Jessica lives and breathes her Oneida culture and traditions and her work is rooted in those teachings. Jessica has had the honor of her artwork being shown in Montreal at the art experience, entitled “Take Care of Yourself” in 2017, and her work has been displayed in galleries throughout Wisconsin. Jessica is an active member of the American Indian Movement (AIM) Chapter 3 and the Blue Skies Foundation. These non-profit organizations work to preserve Native American cultures, languages, and traditions while continuing to the fight to prevent and eliminate the mistreatment, abuse, and oppression of Native people.
